This trail is the most challanging one I have ever done in San Diego!! It's a great preparation for Mt Whitney and will have your buns burning by the end. It took a group of us a little less than 7 hours to complete (with a few stops and a lunch break). The trail is well maintained and there are mile markers along the way. START EARLY!! There is very little shade and it can get very hot mid-day. Bring lots of water with you-- last hike I brought my 3 liter camel bak and I was out with three miles left to go. Definitely bring your camera as well the views and trails are beautiful:)
